Level up your projects: A student's guide to Lucid

Let's review a few ways that Haijing used Lucid while working toward her master's in data science at Indiana University Bloomington.

Because lucid is collaborative, it made working on group projects much easier. Haijing and her group were able to create everything inside of Lucid, giving each of them equal access to make changes to their project. Check out her group's collaborative project here.

Now, let's pull out a few specific examples of how Haijing and her group used Lucid during their data visualization project.

Haijing and her group created and monitored their group's process using one of Lucid's Gantt chart templates. This allowed them to visually identify who was doing what, create and track progress of different tasks, and keep their project on track to meet the due date.

As part of the project, Haijing and her group were able to demonstrate their knowledge by creating a data processing pipeline flowchart to include in their project submission. One of the benefits of using Lucidchart is that they could incorporate both shapes and images into their diagram.

Haijing and her team were also tasked with including a relational table graph in their project. By using Lucidchart, they were able to show how items were connected together with different relationship types, such as one-to-many. They liked using Lucidchart because it already had searchable line types, icons, and shapes within the toolbar. Learn more about shape libraries.
