Level up your projects: A student's guide to Lucid
In this article we will review a few ways that Haijing used Lucid while working toward her master’s degree in data science at Indiana University Bloomington.
Because Lucid is collaborative, it made working on group projects much easier. As a graduate student who often worked on group projects, Haijing experimented with Lucid to give each group member equal access to monitor the progress of their project. Check out her project here.
Now let’s pull out a few specific examples of how Haijing used Lucid for her data science course projects.
Gantt project planning
Haijing created and monitored their group’s process using one of Lucid’s Gantt chart templates. This allowed her group to visually identify who was doing what, create and track progress of different tasks, and keep their project on track to meet the due date.
Data processing pipeline flowchart
On a separate project, Haijing created a data processing pipeline flowchart to explain the steps taken to complete a data project, including data gathering, pre-processing, analysis, and visualization. One of the benefits of using Lucidchart is that they could incorporate both shapes and images into the diagram.
Relational table graph
As a graduate student in data science, Haijing worked with relational datasets and built relational data models using Lucidchart. Integrating tables and graphic elements, she was able to show how tables are connected together with different relationship types such as one to many. Haijing liked using Lucidchart because it already had searchable line types, icons, and shapes within the toolbar. | Learn more about shape libraries
