How to get your Lucid license through Canvas: Student guide

Accessing Lucid via Canvas

  1. Access Lucid in Canvas

    • Open your course in Canvas.
    • From the course navigation toolbar, click on "Lucid."

  2. Verify your role and age

    • The first time you access Lucid through Canvas, you'll need to verify your details.
    • Confirm your role and indicate if you are over 13 years old. Click "Next" to continue.

  3. Age verification (under 13)

    • If you select that you're under 13, you'll be prompted to enter your birth date.
    • After entering your birth date, click "Next."

  4. Contact your instructor

    • If you're under 13, you’ll need permission to use Lucid. Contact your instructor for assistance.

  5. Connect Lucid to Canvas

    • If you're over 13 or have received permission, click the "Connect" button to link your Lucid account to Canvas.

  6. Log in to Lucid

    • If you already have a Lucid account, click "Log in" to sign in. A new tab will open for you to log in.
    • If you don’t have an account, click "Sign up" and follow the prompts to create a free Lucid account.

  7. Confirm Lucid connection

    • After logging in, your Lucid account name will appear. Click "Connect to Lucid" to finalize the connection.
    • If you need to switch accounts, click "Switch account."
    • Note: If you don’t see the connection page, try refreshing your Canvas tab.

  8. Confirm your Lucid Educational plan

    • Your Lucid account will be upgraded to a free educational plan. Click "Continue" to proceed.

  9. Complete the Canvas to Lucid connection

    • Click "Get Started" to finalize the connection between Canvas and Lucid.

  10. Grant account access

    • A new browser tab will open. Review the access request, then click "Grant Access."

  11. Explore Your Lucid dashboard

    • You’ll be directed to your Lucid Dashboard, where you can create new documents, view your existing ones, and explore ready-to-use templates.
